With more than sixty years of technical expertise, Radiall is recognized worldwide for its capacity to innovate in the field of connectors. Radiall has designed a reduced-form connector for the multi-spindle range, the Radiall Quick-Release (QR) connector.
The Radiall quick-install connector is a lightweight, quick-to-install solution that reduces harness integration and maintenance time. It can replace EN3545 thanks to the same panel cut-out. This new connector offers high performance, reduced weight and tool-free mounting and locking on the panel.
The compact shape offers a weight saving of 15% over previous screw connectors, and the average weight is 45 g per mated pair, representing a weight reduction of up to 20 kg for a typical aircraft.
The QR connector offers reliability in the most demanding environments
Utilizing Radiall's ability to design innovative solutions, this interconnect system has been designed with two tool-free mechanisms that save up to 80% of installation time compared to previous connectors :
- A unique locking system to ensure fast, tool-free installation on the panel.
- A slide latch, which has already been qualified on other product ranges, to ensure instant manual mating of the harness connector.
Using the same contact and insert arrangements as EN3545 connectors (signal, power and high-frequency), the QR can be easily integrated into existing aircraft BOMs for immediate cost savings.
